Introduction
Founded in the South Bronx in 1987, the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal believe the screen is where the battle for minds is now fought. Since 2023, we have curated their brand, helping the friars wear a 'digital habit' that is consistently Catholic and unmistakably Franciscan. Our aim is theirs: to meet people online and lead them offline, towards prayer, the sacraments and service of the poor.
Every series has a purpose
Every series has a purpose: Shorts and reels spark the fire in new audiences, Instagram carousels keep it alight, and medium-form films on YouTube help it grow.
Our photography and film follow the friars in chapel, on the streets and among the poor, rarely alone and never posed.
Heavy shadow and documentary realism give the work its distinctive CFR look: unvarnished, prayerful and as plain as the grey habit itself.
