Franciscan Jubilee
Introduction
On 3 October 1226, St Francis of Assisi died at the Portiuncula. Eight hundred years later, the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal marked the anniversary by opening their doors. Throughout 2026, we travelled to CFR friaries across the United States and Europe to film a weekly series in which the friars describe, in their own words, how Francis found them and what the Poverello still teaches.
In their own words
Each film is a conversation: how a friar first met Francis, what drew him to the habit, and what the saint still asks of him.

Each friar sits for a single unhurried conversation. Two cuts come out of it: a one-minute hook clip built on a standalone line, and the long-form episode it belongs to.
The series splits between testimony — conversion stories told chronologically — and reflection, where a friar takes a single Franciscan idea and turns it over.
Filming in friaries across the US and Europe, we let each house set the scene: its chapel, its kitchen, its neighbourhood. Released weekly across the friars' channels, the series keeps the anniversary alive all year, not just in October.
